Carolyn's Storytelling and Poetry

Children's Books, Poetry and Prose

Poetry, Prose and Tales of Dragons

Welcome to my new Website!

My name is Carolyn Wolfe,  (former last names are Edmonds and Overington) and  I want to welcome you to my website. I am a freelance writer/poet   whose first poetry book was published through Publish America! The book is titled "When The Moon Speaks" and  is available online and also locally in bookstores, located in Winchester Virginia (please see book ordering info for more details).  My second book is a children's book titled "The Unhappy Little Dragon, Lessons Begin, " and was published by (ARPG) Avid Readers Publishing Group. My second children's book "The Bedtime Of The Sky and Other Sleepy Bye Stories"  is being published by ARPG  as well and will be coming out Spring of 2010.

A little background info:

I am an animal advocate,  a vegetarian, and live in the Shenandoah Valley with my husband, Scott and our many animal friends. I very much enjoy writing for both a general audience and for children. The links to buying my books are below. For more info please also check out my book ordering pg on this website.

Info about my books:

The poetry in "When The Moon Speaks" is eclectic and has been compiled from over thirty years of my life, from College days to the New Millenium. It is about magic, nature, politics and a bit of philosophy thrown in for good measure.

The Children's book "The Unhappy Little Dragon, Lessons Begin" is an illustrated story book about a little Dragon that has problems controlling his own fire. It is book one in the Happy The Little Dragon series.

My new children's book "The Bedtime Of The Sky and Other Sleepy Bye Stories" are children's stories in rhyme especially for bedtime reading!

Mike and “AMAZED!” Headline Las Vegas!

Mike Rayburn has realized his goal of having a long-run theater show on the famous strip in Las Vegas! The show is called “AMAZED! The Magic of Music and Comedy” and it opened June 27, 2009 for at least a six-month run at the V Theater (Planet Hollywood). It's a family-friendly show from 2:30PM - 3:45PM daily. As we mentioned last time, Mike shares the stage with some Amazing friends... comic magician, Tim Gabrielson; juggler, unicyclist and entertainer (and former American Gladiator,) Jeff Civilico; comedian, Buzz Sutherland; and various other artists, depending on the schedule. Mike is on every day that he's not on the road for other shows. The reason for the revolving cast is just that: All artists have touring careers so this format allows each to artist to have a substitute when they're on the road, and to do AMAZED when they're home. So, Mike will continue to tour as extensively as ever, and return to Las Vegas to perform with “AMAZED!” when back home (yes, he's moved to Vegas).

The V Theater, a premier Las Vegas strip venue, is located near Planet Hollywood in the Miracle Mile Mall. Not only will you experience Mike's updated, high energy musical mayhem (new material) and new light show, but the other magnificent artists as well. For tickets use the link on the left. To confirm dates Mike is in the show email us at mike@mikerayburn.com or check Mike's web site (once the “AMAZED!” link is up and running).

Corporate, Association, and Large Group Discounts...

If you have a large group coming to Las Vegas and want to show them a great, family-friendly show, please call us at the number to the left for deeply discounted tickets or special shows just for your group at a specific time. It's the ideal way to

Have Mike play for you in Las Vegas...

Mike continues to tour extensively doing the entertainment and keynote presentations for which he has become known. If your group is coming to Las Vegas and you'd like to have Mike Rayburn energize and entertain them, we have a new reduced fee for Las Vegas events. You'll get one of the premier artists and keynote presenters in the world, and save travel costs and other expenses. It's the definitive win-win-win.

Special Deal for "My People!" Subscribers...

$5 Tickets!!!

If you're traveling to Las Vegas and would like to see AMAZED, use this email link, give us the date and number of tickets, and you get them for $5! Mike REALLY appreciates your support. We SOOO appreciate your support and Mike would like to return the favor. And though the show is guaranteed to be AMAZING every day, check Mike's schedule online or email us at info@mikerayburn.com to confirm that Mike is appearing on the day you'll be there.

Mike's Picks...

I'm blessed with having some really creative friends and I'd like to start using this format to share some of them with you. Back in the mid-80's when I was playing 4-hour bar gigs for $60/night I had the chance to meet and get to know a soft-spoken, kind young woman named Carolyn Wolfe. She is a poet and she shared some of her poems with me. As a writer, to say the least I was blown away and always hoped she would put them in a book. Well, she finally did and I was so pleased to find that not only does it have all the poems I loved back then, it's got her latest work as well.

The book is called “When The Moon Speaks” and if you are a fan of poetry, if you love discovering a diamond in the rough, or if you simply appreciate an art form at it's best I encourage you to check her out. I have a brand new blog on yahoo! The URL address is: http://360.yahoo.com/wolfecarolyn, please come and visit me there too!

I am excited to share that the website Earth Moment is now selling my book. This site is dedicated to helping Mother Earth and reducing Carbon Dioxide emissions. For each book bought from their site, they donate a portion to the environment! I am so happy to be a part of their process in helping the earth.

New Places to get my book!

Well, new year, lots of good news. My book can be bought locally now here in Winchester VA!

You can get it at two local bookstores in town, The Bookshelf on Featherbed Lane and The Winchester Book Gallery. I am so excited and love those bookstores. My book can still be purchased online at Publishamerica.com and Bordersbooks.com. as well as amazon.com.

I am hoping to connect with fellow writers and would love to be a part of writer's groups online. Anyone interested also in starting a local Winchester Writing group here in the Valley, I would love to hear from you! Let's keep the lines of communication open!

Guess what?  You can help feed hungry hungry cats and dogs for free!

There is a great website: freekibble.com- that feeds hungry dogs and cats that are in shelters around the country, and they do it for free! You just answer fun trivia questions and they donate 20 pieces of Kibble to shelters. It is completely free and it does not matter if you get the answer wrong or right, the kibble gets donated to hungry animals and you have a fun time learning new and interesting animal facts. Sounds great to me. I hope to see you there!

Here is another great site

This site has petitions, animal rights, environmental concerns and wonderful information about what we can do to get involved in actively participating to save the planet! Please take a look!
